Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy rains in the state today and tomorrow, prompting authorities to announce orange and yellow alerts in various districts. Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, and Pathanamthitta districts are currently under an orange alert, while Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, and Idukki districts have been placed on a yellow alert. Isolated heavy rain is also anticipated in other areas.
With the looming weather conditions, fishing activities have been banned along the Kerala and Lakshadweep coasts. However, the IMD has clarified that there is no disruption to fishing on the coast of Karnataka.
