Malappuram: Speaker AN Shamseer defended the actions of SFI against Governor Arif Mohammed Khan. He said, like any other student organizations, SFI also conducts protests in a democratic manner. The Speaker justified the banners and posters put up by the SFI on the Calicut University campus against the Governor as part of the protest.
SFI is an organisation that grew through democratic protests conducted on behalf of the students. The protest against the Governor is also of this kind. The Governor should understand the fact that the organization ‘SFI’ is not a part of any criminal gang. Shamseer said that if the Governor knew the history of SFI, he would never call it a criminal gang. The speaker asked the Governor to consider SFI activists as his grandchildren.
Meanwhile, police removed SFI’s banners against the Governor from Calicut University campus. Despite being told to remove the banner by the Governor earlier, the police did not remove it. After noticing this, the Governor lashed out at the police and made them remove the banners from the university campus.
