Ernakulam: Today, the High Court is set to examine petitions opposing the hosting of Nava Kerala Sadas on temple grounds. Two petitions are under consideration, both filed by devotees, questioning the appropriateness of conducting the Nava Kerala Sadas at Kadakkal Devi Temple in Kollam and Sarkara Devi Temple grounds in Thiruvananthapuram.
Devotees argue in their petitions that the temple grounds are intended for worship purposes and that hosting public events pose a hindrance to the devotees’ freedom. Notably, an earlier High Court ruling had halted the Nava Kerala Sadas scheduled at Chakkuvally Parabrahma Temple in Kollam. The court had issued an order canceling the Devaswom Board’s permission for the event in response to a petition filed by devotees.
