New Delhi: Rajya Sabha Member and DYFI President AA Rahim defended the Student Federation of India (SFI), stating that the organization is fulfilling its historical duty by opposing Governor Arif Mohammed Khan. Rahim alleged that the Kerala Student Union (KSU) remains silent on the actions of the Governor, who also serves as the chancellor of universities.
The Congress, according to Rahim, is praising the Governor’s attitude, raising concerns about their seemingly amicable relationship. Drawing parallels with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Rahim claimed that just as the BJP suggests names, the Congress also influences appointments in universities through the Governor.
Pointing to the appointments at Calicut University, Rahim questioned the involvement of names associated with the United Democratic Front (UDF), urging the Congress to provide answers. He accused the Congress in Kerala of siding with the Governor and insisted that the central government should take steps to control the Governor’s actions. Rahim further alleged that the Youth Congress and KSU have become puppets of the Governor.
