Kozhikode: A young man was arrested for attempting to smuggle gold at Karipur airport. Muhammad Bisharat, a resident of Kasaragod, was apprehended by the police. The authorities confiscated the gold concealed as buttons from the suspect. The police seized 235 grams of gold from 12 clothes.
The gold was concealed within children’s clothing disguised as buttons. He had also changed the color of the buttons to avoid detection. He was able to escape the customs check and got out of the airport. However, Mohammad Bisharat was later arrested by the police following a tip off.
