THRISSUR: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued a notice summoning CPI(M) Thrissur district secretary MM Varghese to appear before the ED today for further interrogation regarding the Karuvannur Service Co-Operative Bank scam case.
This notice comes after the discovery of two accounts linked to Varghese, prompting the ED to request his appearance for additional questioning. This is the fourth time ED is questioning him.
Varghese previously appeared before the ED Office in Kochi on December 19. During yesterday’s interrogation, which spanned seven hours, the ED stated the necessity of gathering more evidence related to the case from Varghese.

Varghese had previously appeared for questioning on November 24 and December 1. However, despite the ED’s request for his presence on December 5, he did not appear, citing the need to attend the ‘Nava Kerala Sadas’ campaign program organized by the Left front government.
