ERNAKULAM: The BJP in Kerala inaugurated the ‘Sneha Yathra’ today in Kochi, marking the commencement of an outreach program aimed at connecting with the Christian community in Kerala.
BJP State President K Surendran inaugurated the ‘Sneha Yathra’ by extending Christmas wishes to Cardinal George Alencherry from the Syro-Malabar Church headquarters, St. Mary’s Cathedral in Ernakulam. Surendran expressed that the ‘Sneha Yathra’ intends to convey Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Christmas wishes to Christian believers and Churches across Kerala.
Surendran also mentioned that Cardinal George Alencherry has blessed the ‘Sneha Yathra.’
Surendran emphasized that the primary agenda of the ‘Sneha Yathra’ is to foster unity in society. He noted that similar programs were organized during the previous Christmas and Easter, where BJP leaders visited and extended Christmas wishes.
Addressing allegations linking the BJP to the Maipur violence propagated by opposition parties and certain media outlets, Surendran asserted that recent Assembly election results revealed the truth. He added that the election outcomes demonstrated the greater trust Christian believers place in the BJP than the Congress.
As part of the programme, BJP leaders will visit Churches and the homes of Christian believers with Christmas cake and greetings from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Additionally, senior BJP leaders, including Union Minister V Muraleedharan, Prakash Javadekar, Kummanam Rajasekharan, PK Krishnadas, and others, are scheduled to participate in the ‘Sneha Yathra’ in the upcoming days.
The ‘Sneha Yathra,’ which commenced today, will continue until December 31, 2023.
