PATHANAMTHITTA: The Kerala High Court has issued directives for the provision of basic facilities to Ayyappa devotees visiting the Sabarimala Temple. With the ongoing holidays, the influx of devotees to Sabarimala is increasing, prompting the court to emphasize the maintenance of special arrangements.
The court specifically outlined the necessity of ensuring basic amenities like water, food, and medical facilities for devotees, particularly those whose vehicles were blocked at Kottayam, Pala, and Ponkunnam under the guise of crowd management.
In response to numerous complaints from Ponkunnam regarding the lack of these essential facilities for devotees, the High Court convened a special session on a public holiday. The court order mandated the State Police Chief’s intervention and required immediate action for effective crowd management.
