Thiruvananthapuram: ADGP MR Ajith Kumar, overseeing law and order, disclosed in an interview with an online channel that the idea of preparing a caravan for Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s official duties is under consideration. This mobile office, similar to the bus used for Nava Kerala Sadas, is aimed at enhancing the Chief Minister’s efficiency and security during travel.
While the final decision on the matter remains pending, the caravan is proposed as a component of the Chief Minister’s future security measures. ADGP MR Ajith Kumar further disclosed that a vehicle equipped with video conferencing facilities is being considered, enabling the Chief Minister to engage in official discussions with his staff while in travel. The ultimate goal is to establish a functional travelling office.
In addition to the expenditures associated with the Nava Kerala Sadas, there is now the proposal to establish a mobile office for the Chief Minister. The court had previously cautioned the government about the demolition of walls in areas where the Nava Kerala Sadas bus passed. The court has also warned the government about the potential financial burden of rebuilding these walls using public funds.
The government’s decision to spend crores on a caravan, especially in the wake of expenses related to the Nava Kerala Sadas, suggests a lack of financial wisdom. At a time when the government is facing financial challenges, such extravagant expenditures give the impression of financial mismanagement and careless use of public funds.
