Thiruvananthapuram: Kadannappalli Ramachandran and KB Ganesh Kumar took charge as ministers. Governor Arif Mohammed Khan administered the oath at a ceremony held at a special venue at Raj Bhavan.
Both became ministers as per the agreement, following the resignation of Antony Raju and Ahamed Devarkovil. The new ministers will be given their portfolios.
Kerala Congress (B) had given a letter asking to assign film department to Ganesh Kumar. But Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan rejected the demand. He said that Ganesh Kumar will only be assigned the Transport Department and the office currently used by Antony Raju will be transferred to Ganesh Kumar. Kadannappalli will be appointed as the Minister of Ports and Archaeology, a post previously held by Ahamed Devarkovil. This office was also utilized by Kadannappalli during the first Pinarayi government.
