Thiruvanathapuram: It has been a year since the CPI(M) leaders are remaining silent on the allegations leveled by Swapna Suresh, the accused in the gold smuggling case. Despite the CPI(M) giving permission to file a defamation case against Swapna Suresh for defaming them in public, none of the alleged senior leaders have even gone to court. Ex-ministers, Speakers and others came under fire when evidence including photographs was released by Swapna.
With this, the justifications and excuses leveled by the senior leaders who have been alleged to be involved, turn false. Swapna Suresh had raised serious allegations against Kadakampally Surendran, Thomas Isaac and P. Sreeramakrishnan of which the worst allegation was leveled against former minister Kadakampally Surendran.
Swapna said that Kadakampally was not qualified to be an MLA or a minister. According to her Kadakampally had behaved in a very improper manner with her and even dirty talked to her over the phone inviting her to various places with him. Swapna had raised similar allegations against P Sreeramakrishnan and Thomas Isaac who are alleged to also have misbehaved with her.
The leaders however had denied her allegations. Swapna then challenged them to move to court against her and asked them to file a defamation case against her. She said that she had evidence against them which she would release when required. Swapna Suresh also claimed to have Kadakampally Surendran’s audio recording which she claimed has been given to the investigating agency.
Initially, the leaders were demanding party’s permission for legal proceedings against Swapna, but after the party gave permission, the accused leaders went silent without responding further or initiate any legal proceedings against Swapna Suresh.
