Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for three districts in Kerala, namely Kasaragod, Kannur, and Kozhikode, as these districts are likely to experience isolated heavy rainfall today.
There is also a possibility of lightning and winds reaching speeds of up to 40 km per hour. Due to this weather condition, authorities have banned fishing activities along the coast of Lakshadweep until further notice.
The rainfall is influenced by the impact of a low-pressure system over the Southeast Arabian Sea and another low-pressure area near the North Kerala coast. The India Meteorological Department expects that these weather patterns will keep affecting the area, causing continuous rain for the next three to four days.
