Thrissur: BJP State President, K Surendran, in a press conference, spoke about the success of yesterday’s ‘Sthree Shakhti Sangamam’ at Thrissur, which was addressed by PM Modi. He also spoke about the attempt by Youth Congress activists to sprinkle the venue with cow dung water, which had led to altercation between BJP activists and Congress members.
Today, the Youth Congress activists tried to enter the venue and attempted to sprinkle cow dung water at the stage. Sprinkling cow dung water is seen as a symbolic act of purification and an attempt to insult people of lower caste.
Referring to the Youth Congress’ attempt, K Surendran reminded that the Congress has a high-caste mentality. He said that Narendra Modi belonged to a lower caste and is a son of a tea-seller. The Congress cannot accept the fact that he is the Prime Minister of the country.
Surendran added that the high-caste mentality of the Congress could not accept the fact that Prime Minister Modi, who is from a lower caste, arrived at the Vadakkunnathan Temple grounds. He reminded that similar insult was hurled against the Vice President of the country and Rahul Gandhi himself encouraged capturing it on video and spreading it on social media. Even the President had to face similar insults.
The BJP State President said that the PM’s visit was a huge success and that the program was attended by women from all walks of life. He remarked that those who attended the road show and the public meeting were people who were politically neutral. He compared the stark contrast of PM’s meeting with that of CPI(M)’s meeting, in which people working with cooperative banks are forced by the communist party to attend their meetings.
K Surendran also accused Thrissur MP, TN Prathapan, of harboring former activists of the banned Popular Front of India (PFI). He said that PFI activists in Chavakad and Guruvayoor are now working with the Congress party. He said that both Congress and the CPI(M) are frequently insulting the Prime Minister of the country and warned that it would not be tolerated.
