Thiruvananthapuram: The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for Idukki district today, signalling the possibility of heavy rainfall at isolated places in the district. The department forecasts substantial rainfall ranging from 115.6 mm to 204.4 mm in Idukki within the next 24 hours.
In addition to the orange alert in Idukki, a yellow alert has been declared for Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, and Ernakulam districts today. The meteorological department cautions residents in these areas to stay vigilant and be prepared for possible rain-related incidents.
Fishermen along the Kerala-Lakshadweep coasts are advised to refrain from venturing into the sea, as the India Meteorological Department anticipates wind speeds of 45 to 50 km per hour in that area.
