Ernakulam: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued fresh summons to former finance minister Thomas Isaac in connection with the KIIFB masala bond case. The ED has directed him to appear at their office in Kochi on the 12th of this month.
Earlier, the High Court had intervened and halted the questioning of Thomas Isaac in the masala bond case, after he filed a petition citing concerns about the ED’s request for personal information. Isaac had filed a petition alleging that the ED was repeatedly sending notices for questioning, demanding unnecessary documents, and suggesting political motivations behind the case.
In response to the petition, the High Court had temporarily restrained the ED from questioning and issuing summons to Thomas Isaac. However, in a recent development, the High Court has allowed the ED to proceed with its investigation, marking a setback for the former finance minister.
