PALAKKAD: BJP’s Pramila Sasidharan has been elected as the Chairperson of the Palakkad Municipal Corporation. Securing 28 votes from BJP, Sasidharan defeated UDF candidate Mini Babu, who won 17 votes, including one from the Welfare Party. The LDF candidate, Usha Ramachandran, secured 7 votes.
The oath-taking ceremony is scheduled to take place soon in the Municipal Council Hall in Palakkad.
In an interaction with the media, Pramila Sasidharan emphasized the immediate focus on addressing pending civic works and preparing Plan Fund projects for the upcoming year.
