Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast indicating the continuation of isolated rain in the state in the upcoming days. Today, a yellow alert has been declared in five districts, namely Ernakulam, Idukki, Palakkad, Pathanamthitta, and Kozhikode.
The IMD’s warning signals the likelihood of isolated heavy rainfall, with anticipated rainfall ranging from 65.5 mm to over 115 mm within a 24-hour period. Additionally, the state is expected to experience high waves and storm surges until 11:30 tonight. Coastal residents and fishermen have been advised to exercise caution due to the potential for rough seas.
