New Delhi: Chief Minister’s former principal secretary, M Sivasankar, is reported to be suffering from a severe illness, according to medical reports. The findings from the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation department at JIPMER in Pondicherry indicates a degenerative spinal cord condition. The detailed report has been submitted to the Supreme Court, which is scheduled to review it next week.
According to the report submitted to the Supreme Court, the illness has caused changes in the spinal cord, leading to self-deterioration where the spine crumbles, affecting the neck and waist. The recommended treatment involves wearing a collar on the neck and a belt on the waist to prevent bending. The report also advises against prolonged standing and lifting weights. Surgery has been suggested as an option if deemed necessary.
The medical examination and subsequent report were conducted in response to a request from the Enforcement Directorate (ED). M Sivasankar, currently on bail in the Life Mission case and the court is expected to review his application for permanent bail next week.
