Kottayam: Former MLA and Janapaksham Party President PC George criticised the cyber attacks against playback singer KS Chithra, expressing his support for her through a Facebook post.
In his Facebook post, PC George stated that faith is a source of pride and a freedom granted by the Indian Constitution, emphasizing that one should not compromise it even in the face of threats. He extended his full solidarity to Chithra, highlighting her right to express opinions and beliefs.
PC George stated that it is unfair to engage in cyber-bullying against the singer for expressing her views.
PC George then stated that Kerala is currently experiencing biased secularism. He humorously remarked that ‘number one Kerala’ is facing a form of one-sided, biased secularism.
He pointed out an incident where Panakkad Sayed Hyderali Shihab Thangal’s son and Oommen Chandy’s son welcomed the conversion of the Hagia Sophia Christian Church in Istanbul, Turkey, into a mosque. He said that Hagia Sophia Christian Church was originally built as a Christian Orthodox church. He questioned the fairness of attacking KS Chithra for supporting the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on the grounds where an ancient Ram Temple was destroyed to build a mosque.
PC George argued that the Ram temple is being constructed in Ayodhya based on an Indian judicial verdict.
Therefore, it’s not wrong that those who respect and believe in the Indian judiciary system to welcome the ‘Prana Pratishtha’ (Consecration) ceremony scheduled for January 22, 2024.
In her video post, Chithra said, “My salutations to all. When the Pran Prathishtha ceremony is held in Ayodhya on January 22, everybody should chant the Ram mantra ‘Sri Rama, Jayarama, Jaya Jaya Rama’ at 12.20 pm. In the evening, five-wick lamps should be lit in the house, praying that God’s blessings may be showered upon everyone. Loka Samastha Sukhino Bhavanthu.”
Following her video, left-wing supporters and radical Islamists launched widespread cyber attacks against KS Chithra after she suggested that all devotees should light lamps in their homes in connection with the ‘Prana Pratishtha’ (Consecration) ceremony of the Ayodhya Ram Temple.
