Thiruvananthapuram: CPI (M) leader and former Minister G Sudhakaran publicly disclosed his estrangement from Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Sudhakaran mentioned that he is against the ritualistic worship of political leaders. Meanwhile, acknowledged Pinarayi Vijayan as a powerful leader.
Sudhakaran also criticized Kerala State Cultural Affairs Minister Saji Cherian for criticizing him in the matter involving the popular writer MT Vasudevan Nair.
Yesterday, Sudhakaran criticized MT Vasudevan Nair for his remarks on the ritualistic worship of political leaders. MT Vasudevan Nair’s recent statement in a programme where Pinarayi Vijayan also attended, ‘ritualistic worship’ of political leaders, sparked controversy in Kerala.
Sudhakaran, responding to the media about his criticism of MT Vasudevan Nair, stated that it’s not fair for Deshabhimani (CPI(M)’s mouthpiece newspaper) to not publish Sudhakaran’s statements. He added that the Deshabhimani newspaper has repeatedly avoided publishing his photographs and news.
He emphasized that public opinion against the government is crucial and should be published, a stance the party should also accept.
