Thiruvananthapuram: The government of Kerala has announced its intention to collect money from students for the upcoming SSLC model exams. According to an official order issued by the Department of General Education, each student will be required to pay Rs 10 for the printing of the question paper. The SSLC Model Exams are scheduled to commence on February 19.
This marks the first instance in the state where students are being asked to contribute financially for the printing of their examination papers. The decision has stirred widespread criticism. People argue that there is no justifiable reason to burden students with the cost of printing question papers for public examinations. They questioned the government’s priorities, asking whether any planned celebrations were cancelled due to a lack of funds.
