New Delhi: On the 75th Republic Day, which is going to be the epitome of women power, Kerala’s women power will also be on the show. 12 National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers from the state will participate in the Republic Day Parade.
NSS will parade on the Kartavya path based on the theme ‘Nari Shakti – Rani Lakshmi Bai’. 200 people selected from 40 lakh NSS volunteers from universities of various states across Bharath will participate in the parade.

Vaishnavi (Govt. College for Women, Vazhuthakkad), Maria Rose Thomas (SN College Cherthala), Niyatha R. Shankar (College of Applied Science Chelakkara, Pazhayannur), S. Srilakshmi (Govt. Engineering College, Thrissur), Aparna Prasad (Adisankara Institute of Engineering and Technology, Kaladi), K. V. Amrita Krishna (Providence Women’s College, Kozhikode), A. Malavika (St Mary’s College Sultan Bathery).
The Kerala team is led by Dr. Simimol Sebastian, NSS Program Officer of Pala Alphonsa College.
For the first time this year, an all-women tri-services contingent from the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and India Air Force (IAF) will be part of the Republic Day event marching down the Kartavya Path.
