Kozhikode: Freedom fighter K. Uneeri, aged 100, breathed his last yesterday, succumbing to age-related ailments. K. Uneeri passed away at his son’s residence in Kakkodi. The cremation is scheduled to take place today at 11 a.m. at the West Hill cemetery.
K. Uneeri played a pivotal role in the ‘Quit India’ movement. His invaluable contribution involved the transmission of crucial information among fellow freedom fighters.
K. Uneeri actively participated in the celebrations of Bharat’s independence on August 15, 1947. He proudly engaged in the flag-hoisting ceremony in Kozhikode.
