Alappuzha: Lisha, wife of slain BJP leader, Adv. Ranjith Sreenivasan, recollected how she was threatened by three Muslim women after the murder. They asked Lisha to withdraw from the case and warned her to protect her daughters from falling into the hands of SDPI members.
Lisha was speaking to the media after the sentencing when she recalled the harrowing experiences she and her family had to undergo after the brutal murder of her husband, Ranjith Sreenivasan.
She said that three Muslim women had come to her home and also to her office and threatened her. She said they talked sweetly to her but their words were threatening. They told Lisha not to pursue the case any further and reminded her that she has two daughters and warned her to protect them from falling into the hands of SDPI members.
Lisha continued that one of the women was an elderly lady. Two women came to her office and one lady visited her at home. They had threatened Lisha in March when the chargesheet was being submitted.
15 PFI and SDPI members were sentenced to death by the Mavelikara Additional Session Court. They had brutally killed BJP OBC Morcha State Secretary, Adv. Ranjith Sreenivasan. The culprits forced their way into his house and killed him brutally in front of his mother, wife and his daughter in the wee hours of December 19, 2021.
During the trial the prosecution argued that the killing was based on a hit-list prepared earlier by the banned PFI leaders. The court accepted the prosecution’s argument that Ranjith Sreenivasan was killed brutally in front of his family by the culprits, who were trained professionally for the crime. The gravity of the crime led the court to pronounce the death sentence on all the 15 PFI and SDPI culprits in the case.
