Kottayam: The college authorities of St. Thomas College, Pala, took proper action to block the controversial move by the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) to rename youth festival venues as Palestine and Babri. Professor Dr. James John, the College Principal, condemned the SFI activists for attempting to politicize the youth festival venues and affirmed that such actions will not be tolerated within the college premises.
The college authorities had originally assigned different names to the venues, but the SFI unauthorizedly changed them. Promptly noticing this alteration, the administration took immediate action by removing the names. Principal Dr. James John asserted that such attempts to inject political undertones into the youth festival would not be tolerated within the college premises. To prevent any further disturbances, the principal made it clear that no protests related to this incident would be allowed on the campus.
