Panaji: Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that Bharat will soon become the third-largest economic power in the world, a belief shared by experts worldwide. ‘India Energy Week 2024’ stands as the country’s largest and only all-encompassing energy exhibition and conference, aiming to catalyze Bharat’s energy transition goals by bringing together the entire energy value chain. The Prime Minister also convened a roundtable with global oil and gas CEOs and experts.

PM Modi made these remarks during the inauguration of the second edition of India Energy Week 2024 in Panaji, Goa. He emphasized that experts worldwide anticipate India’s rise as the third-largest economy. Modi highlighted that in the first six months of the 2024 financial year, the country’s GDP growth rate reached 7.5%, surpassing global growth rates.

During his speech, PM Modi committed to reducing carbon intensity by over 45% by 2030 and achieving the target of net-zero emissions by 2070.

PM Modi concluded his speech by expressing pride in hosting the ‘India Energy Week’ program in Goa, a place brimming with energy. He emphasized the importance of deliberating on a sustainable future, stating that Goa is a perfect destination for such discussions.
