New Delhi: Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar launched a scathing attack on what he termed as the “biggest corrupt parties” – Congress and its allies DMK and CPI(M) – alleging that they are orchestrating protests at Jantar Mantar. Chandrasekhar further claimed that the CPI(M) is protesting in Delhi to evade questions from the people of Kerala.
His criticism comes ahead of the scheduled protest dharna at Jantar Mantar today, led by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Rajeev Chandrasekhar accused Pinarayi Vijayan’s government of plunging Kerala into unprecedented debt, stating that from 2016 to 2023, the state accumulated a debt of Rs 1.10 lakh crore, making it the most indebted state in the country.
Rajeev Chandrasekhar went on to assert that if foreign investment were to cease, Kerala would find itself in a situation worse than that of Sri Lanka. He accused Pinarayi Vijayan of orchestrating a political drama to divert attention from Kerala’s economic woes, sarcastically remarking that only those with a doctorate from Karl Marx University could create such significant losses. In Delhi, according to Chandrasekhar, the Kerala government is merely staging a political drama. He urged the common people to question the government’s motives as they gather at Jantar Mantar.
