Thiruvananthapuram: Biju Prabhakar has made a significant move by demanding his removal from the position of Managing Director (MD) of KSRTC (Kerala State Road Transport Corporation). Prabhakar submitted a letter to Chief Secretary V. Venu, formally requesting his removal from the MD role. Speculation is rife that Prabhakar might also step down from his position as Transport Secretary.
The decision appears to stem from apparent differences of opinion between Prabhakar and Transport Minister KB Ganesh Kumar. Despite their disagreements on various policy matters related to KSRTC, Prabhakar continued in his role as MD.
The rift between the two escalated when the Transport Minister expressed disagreement on several issues concerning KSRTC, which some have deemed as a management blunder. Notably, the Minister’s remark about the operational loss of profitable electric buses further strained their relationship.
Prabhakar, upon returning from a foreign visit, promptly addressed his concerns by writing to the Chief Secretary, formally demanding his removal from the MD position.
