Thiruvananthapuram: Aastha special train service from Kerala to Ayodhya will start its service from today. The train is scheduled to depart from Kochuveli, Thiruvananthapuram, at 10:30 a.m. BJP state president K. Surendran will interact with passengers when the train stops at Kottayam station.
It was reported that 24 Aastha special trains will conduct their service from Kerala to Ayodhya; today’s is the inaugural service. The service will be operated from Thiruvananthapuram and Palakkad in Kerala and Nagercoil in Tamil Nadu.
It was announced earlier that the first service would start on January 30, but it was later cancelled. Sources said that the cancellation was due to the unavailability of necessary coaches due to the surge in pilgrims from North Bharat. The Aastha Special train, which was slated to depart from Palakkad, was intended to be the first Aastha Special train service from Kerala to Ayodhya.
