Wayanad: The Chief Wildlife Warden has issued an order to tranquillize the wild elephant that killed a man in Mananthavady earlier today. The intention is to safely tranquillize the wild elephant and relocate it to the inner forest. To facilitate this operation, steps have been initiated to bring two Kumki elephants from Muthanga to Padamala. The forest department has confirmed that the process of tranquillizing the wild elephant has commenced.
The incident occurred when the wild elephant ventured into the residential area of Padamala around 4 a.m. today, resulting in the death of Ajeesh. In response to this incident, locals staged a heavy protest in Mananthavady, demanding action.
