Thiruvananthapuram: The Palukachu ceremony (the auspicious customary house-warming ceremony observed in Kerala) of BJP state office ‘KG Marar Bhavan’ has been completed. All the leaders including State President of BJP K. Surendran were present during the ceremony. The new office building was built on the site of the old state office at Aristo Junction, Thiruvananthapuram.
The 60,000-sqft ‘KG Marar Bhavan’ is built on a 55-cent plot at Thaikkad which was bought two-and-a-half decades ago. The land was bought when C.K. Padmanabhan was the State President and PP Mukundan was the General Secretary of the organization. The official inauguration of the new state office, will be held another day.
The state office is built in a ‘Naalu Kettu’ pattern based entirely on Kerala architecture. The building has 7 floors and is fully equipped with central AC system, 300+ capacity auditorium, meeting center, media rooms and digital libraries.
The Nalukettu pattern is a conventional type of architecture found in Kerala, characterized by a rectangular shape composed of four sections joined by an open courtyard. It has been a customary living arrangement for the people of Kerala for many years and is renowned for its traditional art and architecture.
