Thiruvananthapuram: CPI(M) Kerala State Secretariat has sought an explanation from former Minister and senior CPI(M) leader Kadakampally Surendran. Reports indicate that it was after Kadakampally Surendran indirectly criticized the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation for its substandard road construction in the area.
This action against Kadakampally Surendran comes in response to his accusations against the CPI(M)-led Municipal Corporation.
Following this, Kadakampally Surendran explained that his remarks were a mistake. He also mentioned that his statement about the poor conditions of roads in Thiruvananthapuram was based on complaints from the public.
It is also reported that the CPI(M) party has announced an inquiry into the leaked news alleging that the state PWD Minister, Mohamed Riyas, indirectly criticized Kadakampally Surendran for his remarks on road development in Thiruvananthapuram.
In response to Kadakampally Surendran’s criticism of the prolonged poor road conditions in Thiruvananthapuram Corporation, PWD Minister Mohamed Riyas indirectly criticised him, stating that building roads in the sky and placing them on the ground was not feasible. He also expressed disagreement against the dismissal of the contractor.
There are several criticisms also raised in the CPI(M)’s state committee against Kadakampally Surendran for blaming road constructions. The criticism is that Kadakampally Surendran is paving the way for unnecessary controversies against the CPI(M) ruling corporation.
A report presented to CPI(M)’s state committee against Kadakampally Surendran mentioned that such an attitude of accusing the CPI(M) by such a senior party leader should be considered serious.
This issue stems from an incident a week prior, during which Kadakampally Surendran indirectly blamed the poor conditions of roads in Thiruvananthapuram. Subsequently, Mohamed Riyas also launched a controversial attack against Kadakampally Surendran.
