Thiruvananthapuram: LDF Convener E.P. Jayarajan stated that the Congress has confined the Muslim League to just two seats, despite historically winning two seats when contesting alone. He emphasized the need for the League to clarify its stance on this issue.
“In 1952, the Muslim League contested from the Madras state and secured a seat in Malabar. In 1962, upon its integration into Kerala, it won two Lok Sabha seats, both contested against the Congress. However, the Congress has now allotted only two seats to the party. Such restrictions have not been imposed within the LDF. The Muslim League should be ready to clarify its position,” Jayarajan addressed the media in Thiruvananthapuram.
He further announced that the CPI(M) will contest 15 out of the total 20 seats, while the CPI will contest in 4 seats, with the Kerala Congress(M) fielding candidates in the Kottayam seat. Jayarajan affirmed that there are no internal conflicts within the Left Front, and decisions have been made collectively.
