Thrissur: Governor Arif Mohammed Khan criticised Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s action, stating that while the Chief Minister encourages SFI activists to protest against the Governor, he also provides security for the Governor. He made these remarks while speaking to the media after participating in the Navathi celebration of renowned historical writer Panikkassery Velayudhan in Engandiyoor, Thrissur.

The Governor pointed out the Chief Minister’s action, stating that on one side, the SFI activists are being told to stage a protest against him, and on the other side, Pinarayi Vijayan says to provide security for the Governor. He stated that he only has sympathy for the police and that he is not afraid of anything. Additionally, Governor said that the only thing that the Chief Minister can do is to start a drama company.

SFI activists attempted to attack the Governor’s vehicle while he was going to inaugurate a program in Engandiyoor earlier today. More than 10 individuals reportedly obstructed the Governor’s vehicle and waved black flags. Subsequently, the police arrested 14 individuals, including two women, who were involved in the attempted attack and removed them from the scene.
