Ernakulam: KT Jaleel has once again voiced criticism against film director Priyadarshan for the exclusion of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and late actress Nargis Dutt from the National Film Awards categories. Jaleel condemned Priyadarshan’s participation in the committee responsible for recommending the removal of Indira Gandhi’s name, asserting that such actions constitute a grave insult to the worldwide Malayali community.
Expressing his discontent, Jaleel asserts that Priyadarshan should have followed the stance taken by actor Mohanlal, who refused participation in the ‘Prana Pratishtha’ ceremony in Ayodhya. This isn’t the first time Jaleel has publicly criticised Priyadarshan. Earlier, Jaleel had raised objections against Priyadarshan in the Kerala Assembly also, attributing the decision to exclude Indira Gandhi to Priyadarshan’s influence.
