Wayanad: Union Minister of State for External Affairs, V Muraleedharan, has criticised Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi, accusing them of neglecting the welfare of people in Wayanad amidst wild elephants attacks. He said that CM Pinarayi Vijayan and other Minsters have time to spend on other things when people die in wild animal attacks.
V Muraleedharan criticised Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi, pointing out that, as an MP, he couldn’t even establish a medical college in his own constituency. V Muraleedharan also called for the expulsion of the Forest Minister, accusing him of neglecting the importance of human lives. He further stated that there is no need to pay salary to such a Minister using the money paid as tax by the common people.
Furthermore, Muraleedharan criticised the state government for its failure to implement central government directives aimed at addressing wildlife attacks effectively. He pointed out that Rs 48 crore, which was allotted by the central government to the state, has not yet been spent. Additionally, he said that the state government has not taken any initiatives to address concerns regarding wild elephant attacks.
He also said that Kerala have the Periyar Tiger Reserve and several other wildlife sanctuaries, all under the central government’s protection and there are no disturbances in these areas. He emphasized that the current issues arise from the state government’s failure to adhere to the directives issued by the Centre.
