Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) has imposed a fine of Rs 500 on Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s Kia Carnival car for a seat belt violation. The penalty was levied as a person occupying the front seat of the vehicle was found to be not wearing a seat belt, according to MVD officials.
The incident occurred on December 12 during the Nava Kerala Sadas event, when the Chief Minister’s convoy was travelling along the Mundakayam-Kuttikkanam road. It was noted that an occupant seated in the front seat of the vehicle was not wearing a seat belt, which led to the imposition of the fine.
The Chief Minister’s Kia Carnival car was part of the convoy accompanying the ministers’ bus as part of the Nava Kerala Sadas procession.
