Ernakulam: The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) has disconnected the power supply to the Ernakulam Collectorate. According to reports, the outstanding dues amount to around Rs 42 lakhs, resulting in 30 offices of the Collectorate being plunged into darkness, affecting their functioning.
Most of the offices have been unable to pay their current bills for the past five months due to insufficient funds. The Education Department alone owes Rs 92,993, while the total arrears owed by the offices amount to Rs 7,19,554. Officials have stated that the Ernakulam Collectorate is facing a very unusual situation.
