Bengaluru: In connection with Atukal Pongala, South-Western Railway has announced special fare train service from Bengaluru to Kochuveli and back. Special train from Bengaluru to Kochuveli is scheduled to run today and on February 24. Railway officials informed that the return service from Kochuveli to Bengaluru will be tomorrow and on February 25.
As it is a special fare train, the ticket fare will increase by up to 30 percent from the original fare. Online ticket reservation for the train has started. SMVT Baiyappanahalli-Kochuveli Special (060501) train will start service at 11.55 pm tonight. It will reach Kochuveli by 7.10 pm tomorrow.
The Kochuveli-SMVT Baiyappanahalli Special (06502) will start from Kochuveli at 11 pm tomorrow. It will reach Baiyappanahalli around 4.30 pm the next day.
Stops have been sanctioned at Whitefield, Bamharpet, Kuppam, Salem, Erode, Tirupur, Coimbatore, Palakkad, Ottapalam, Thrissur, Aluva, Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, Thiruvalla, Chengannur, Kayamkulam and Kollam.
The train has two AC two-tier, 13 AC three-tier and two general coaches.
