Ernakulam: K Purushothaman, a senior RSS pracharak and former Managing Director of Janmabhumi newspaper, has passed away at the age of 78. He breathed his last on Saturday morning while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Ernakulam.
The body will be placed for public viewing starting from 9 am today, at the RSS branch office in Elamakkara, Ernakulam. The funeral rites will be conducted at the Pachalam public crematorium at five o’clock in the evening.
Purushothaman, an RSS activist, began his journey as an RSS Pracharak in 1967 and served for 55 years. He served as a Kannur Vibhag pracharak in the Kodungallur, Thalassery, Paravoor, and Iringalakuda regions. Additionally, he served as a Pracharak in Palakkad, Ernakulam, Sabarigiri, and Kozhikode vibhags. In 1987, he was appointed as the RSS State Karyalaya Pramukh. He was a Kannur Vibhag pracharak in Kodungallur, Thalassery, Paravoor, Iringalakuda regions.
In 2003, he assumed the role of Managing Director of Janmabhumi newspaper. Four years later, in 2007, he took on the position of the State Organization Secretary of the Matsyapravartaka Sangam.
