Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather advisory indicating the likelihood of rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in three districts of Kerala. Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, and Pathanamthitta districts are expected to experience rain and thunderstorms. Additionally, the IMD has cautioned that strong winds reaching speeds of up to 40 km per hour are anticipated.
As per the IMD’s warning, isolated areas within Thiruvananthapuram are expected to witness rainfall in the forthcoming hours. However, the IMD has also cautioned that temperatures in Kollam and Palakkad districts may rise by 2–3 degrees Celsius.
Due to the rain alert, the IMD has advised against fishing activities in the Gulf of Mannar and adjoining areas. Fishermen are urged to exercise caution and refrain from venturing into the sea until the weather conditions improve.
