Wayanad: The tiger that instilled fear in Pulpally, Wayanad, for a period of two months has been captured. Reports indicate that the tiger in Mullankolli had been eating pets for four days, causing distress among the local residents. In response to the escalating situation, the forest department took action by setting up traps at four locations in the area, leading to the capture of the tiger.
Earlier, an order was issued to tranquillize the animal, although the process was prolonged due to difficulties in identifying the specific tiger responsible for the attacks. Following the capture, arrangements are underway to transfer the tiger to the Animal Hospice and Palliative Centre at Kuppadi.
Once shifted to Kuppadi, the tiger will undergo a comprehensive health assessment, including checks for any wounds or injuries. Based on the findings, the authorities will make further decisions regarding the transfer of the captured tiger to another place.
