Thiruvananthapuram: K Surendran, the BJP Kerala state president said that Kerala would be liberated from religious terrorism. He also asserted that the Modi government is dedicated to freeing the people of Kerala from the extremist forces of religious terrorism. Surendran made these statements while addressing the concluding session of the NDA’s Kerala Padayatra today in Thiruvananthapuram.
Surendran highlighted incidents such as the attack on a Christian priest in Poonjar, Kottayam district, and the hate campaign against the Attukal Pongala as examples of extremist terrorism in Kerala. He accused both the Left and Right Fronts in Kerala of supporting extremist religious terrorism.
Regarding the attack on Fr. Attuchalil Joseph, Assistant Vicar of St. Mary’s Forane Church in Poonjar, Surendran mentioned that despite the attack took place inside the church campus, both the Left and Right factions stood in defense of the accused, whereas the NDA raised its voice against it.
Surendran noted that this is the third time PM Modi has visited Kerala in the past two months, emphasizing the several projects introduced by the Modi government for Kerala.
He further emphasized that the warm reception of the NDA’s Kerala Padayatra campaign programmes throughout the state is evidence of the people of Kerala embracing the developmental policies of the Modi government.
