Thiruvananthapuram: A human skeleton was found inside an old water authority tank within the premises of the Kariavattom Campus on Wednesday. The tank, located near the Botany Department, had remained unused for years. The police and fire force immediately arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation.
The skeleton was located inside a tank that had been utilized by the water authority years ago. It was found lying at a depth of 15 feet, discovered through a manual opening in the tank. The remote and forested nature of the area meant that it was rarely visited by people. The initial discovery of the skeleton was made by campus staff.
After the incident, the Kazhakootam Fire Force team reached the campus. Due to insufficient security measures, the fire force team was unable to get inside the tank immediately. Police have indicated that the forensic team is scheduled to arrive at the scene Thursday morning, and plans are in place to take out the skeleton with the assistance of the fire force.
