Thiruvananthapuram: As the academic year progresses, Kerala braces itself for the upcoming exam season. Scheduled to kick off tomorrow, the Higher Secondary exams will continue until March 26th, while SSLC exams are set to begin on March 4th. Additionally, THSLC and AHSLC exams are slated to commence on the same day.
A total of 4,14,159 students are slated to appear for the first-year Higher Secondary exam, while 4,41,213 students will undertake the second-year Higher Secondary exam. To facilitate these examinations, 2,017 examination centers have been designated across various regions. Notably, 1994 centers are situated within Kerala, with eight centers each allocated in the Gulf region and Lakshadweep, and an additional six centers in Mahi.
Chief Superintendents, Deputy Chief Superintendents, and invigilators have been duly appointed in all examination centers. To ensure smooth conduct and evaluation of the examinations, district-level meetings of Chief Superintendents have been held under the guidance of the Joint Director of Examinations.
To facilitate the evaluation process, a network of 77 centralized valuation camps has been established, comprising 52 single valuation camps and 25 double valuation camps. The evaluation of answer sheets for the Higher Secondary Examinations is scheduled to commence from April 1st.
However, amidst the preparations, concerns have arisen regarding the printing of question papers for the Plus One exams. As of now, only the question papers for the first four days have been printed, necessitating the reprinting and distribution of question papers to 2075 Higher Secondary schools in the state and exam centers abroad. Question papers for schools in the Gulf regions are distributed through the embassy, contributing to increased printing costs due to the need for a second printing.
