Thiruvananthapuram: Union Minister V Muraleedharan expressed concern over the treatment of government employees and pensioners by the Kerala government. He stated that they are enduring an unprecedented level of betrayal. Muraleedharan highlighted that never before in Kerala’s history have people had to take to the streets to protest for their rights. He also noted that even the wife of the Finance Minister had to fight for her rights.
Muraleedharan said that the government’s fiscal policies were devoid of any understanding or sincerity. He mocked, stating that CM Pinarayi could not collect tax from big people because his daughter had already collected tax from all of them.
Muraleedharan stated that the demand to allow additional borrowing to pay salaries and pensions was a betrayal of Kerala. He added that Pinarayi Vijayan was the only Chief Minister in the country who used pensioners for his PR work. Muraleedharan further remarked that CM Pinarayi was focusing on PR work even when the financial crisis was raging in the state. He added that the Chief Minister’s primary goal seems to be making announcements and garnering applause.
