Thiruvananthapuram: Even before the Chief Minister’s recent remarks on the deplorable condition of ministerial buildings, including the Cliff House, the Public Works Department (PWD) had already approved funds for repairs. A sum of Rs 49.91 lakhs has been allocated for maintenance, with the order issued on the 26th.
Yesterday, the Chief Minister highlighted the dire conditions within ministerial buildings, citing instances of severe nuisance caused by civet cats. He emphasized that ministers often live in constant fear, with even leaving a glass of water open being deemed risky due to the possibility of the civet cat urinating. Contrary to popular belief about spacious and comfortable accommodations for ministers, the Chief Minister asserted that such notions were inaccurate. However, these statements from the Chief Minister are viewed by many as a preemptive defense against potential criticism.
