Thiruvananthapuram: Once again Congress comes under trolls and criticisms; this time for singing the National Anthem wrongly. Thiruvananthapuram DCC President Palode Ravi sang the National Anthem wrongly at the concluding session of KPCC’s Samaragni Yatra. AICC general secretary Sachin Pilot, Shashi Tharoor MP and other leaders were present on stage when the National Anthem was sung incorrectly.
The incident that happened on stage gave a comical feel to the audience present there and to the viewers who later watched the video on social media platforms.
This is what happened:
After the closing ceremony of Samragni, Palode Ravi stepped in front of the microphone and asked the audience to stand up for the National Anthem. He then started singing the National Anthem but sang it incorrectly. The funniest thing to see was MLA T Siddique grabbing the microphone from Ravi and covering it with his hands. Palode Ravi when started singing, began with the ending line of the National Anthem ‘Jana Gana Mangala…’ first, instead of the starting line ‘Jana Gana Mana…’ Sidddique who realized the mistake, promptly took away the microphone from Ravi and told him that the CD of the National Anthem would be played instead. The National Anthem was later sung by a female Congress leader.
In the video that has come out, it is also seen that MP Kodikunnil Suresh is laughing out loud at Palode Ravi who sang the National Anthem wrongly. Trolls started coming in on social media mocking Congress leaders for not even knowing how to sing the national anthem.
Recently, in a similar incident, Anto Antony MP was also trolled for welcoming BJP President K Surendran instead of K Sudhakaran at Samaragni’s stage.
Samaragni, Congress’ Lok Sabha campaign in Kerala was flagged off in Kasaragod on Februsry 9, 2024. It covered 20 Lok Sabha constituencies in State and culminated with a rally in Thiruvananthapuram. It was during the culmination ceremony that the mishap of singing the National Anthem incorrectly happened.
