Thiruvananthapuram: DYFI workers have sparked controversy by placing a memorial flex board outside the home of Siddharth, a student of Pookode Veterinary College who died after an alleged mob trial and assault by SFI members. The flex portrays Siddharth as an SFI activist, despite his family’s insistence that he had no political affiliations.
The message on the flex board, reading “Bring to justice all the criminals involved in the murder of Siddharth, 2nd-year student of Pookode Govt Veterinary College, Wayanad, SFI activist and resident of Vinod Nagar, Kurakode. Investigate properly and make arrests. Always with the family for justice,” has drawn criticism from Siddharth’s father, T Jayaprakash.
Jayaprakash voiced his disapproval, stating that DYFI workers are attempting to label his son as an SFI member, which is untrue. He emphasized that his son had no political ties, and accused the activists of exploiting his son’s death for their own agenda. Despite repeated requests to remove the flex, the activists have refused to remove the flex board.
