Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department has issued a cautionary yellow alert for six districts in Kerala for today and tomorrow as temperature is expected to soar in the upcoming days. The districts under the alert are Palakkad, Kottayam, Kollam, Alappuzha, Kozhikode, and Kannur.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department has warned that coastal residents and fishermen should be cautious due to rising temperature and the increased risk of sea storms.
The warning comes amidst concerns over heat stroke (also known as sun stroke) during the peak hours of 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Disaster Management authorities advise those venturing outdoors during these times to stay hydrated and consume water-rich foods to prevent dehydration. The India Meteorological Department said that the chance of rain is low at present.
